Visits and hosting records
The hosting system records technical request information, which can include your IP address, requested URL, time, response status, browser details and referring URL. The operator may use these records and private diagnostic archives to run the site, investigate abuse and understand traffic, including approximate network or regional information. Do not put sensitive information in URLs.
Google Analytics and cookies
The site uses Google Analytics 4 through Site Kit by Google to measure readership. Google can receive page and interaction information, device/browser details and your IP address, and use it to derive approximate location. Analytics can use first-party cookies such as _ga and _ga_* to distinguish browsers and sessions. See How Google uses information from partner sites and Google’s Privacy Policy.
You can manage or block cookies in your browser and use Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Blocking cookies alone does not necessarily stop all Analytics transmissions. Staff sign-in uses separate WordPress authentication, login-test and preference cookies.
Contact messages
The contact form collects your reply address, message and optional name. It submits messages through the hosting mail system for delivery to the site’s private Gmail inbox. These providers process message contents and delivery information. Messages are not saved as WordPress posts. Do not include passwords or payment details.
Spam controls use a hidden trap field and a counter valid for ten minutes, keyed by a salted hash of the connecting IP address rather than the raw IP. The contact form limits attempts to three in that window. Hosting request logs can still contain the IP address as described above.
Accounts and comments
Public registration is closed. Staff accounts store usernames, contact details and profile information. Comments are closed on new articles and pages. If an older post accepts comments, WordPress stores the submitted details, IP address and browser information; the comment and display name may be public. Optional comment cookies can remember your details.
App links and other providers
Charts and diagrams are hosted on this site, and the site uses system fonts. Links to app stores, Apple, news publishers, job platforms, courses and certification providers open sites with their own privacy practices. AppShifted does not operate those services. Review their terms before creating an account, applying for work or paying for a course. This site has no advertising placements, affiliate links, newsletter signup or embedded videos.
Retention and your choices
Retention depends on the record and provider. Hosting logs, diagnostic archives, account records, backups, email and Google Analytics have separate retention settings. Use the contact form to request access, correction or deletion of information associated with you. Requests may require identity verification; security, administration or legal obligations can require records to be retained.
Privacy questions and updates
Use the contact form for privacy questions or requests. Include the relevant page, approximate date and information you supplied, but do not send passwords. Changes to this policy will appear here with an updated date.
