iPhone Duo Cases: Drop Protection, Waterproof Housings and Wallets

Reviewed November 3, 2026. U.S. Apple prices and UK TORRO prices are identified separately. Product claims come from manufacturers; AppShifted did not perform drop or underwater tests.

iPhone Duo needs a case designed for its folding body, two displays and hinge. Options include Apple’s slim two-part case, its kickstand folio, third-party protective shells, wallets with card and cash storage, and a specialist underwater housing. A stand, a wallet pocket and a water rating are separate features.

This guide covers Apple-made cases and compatible third-party accessories. A case for another iPhone does not fit Duo simply because both support MagSafe. Select iPhone Duo in the manufacturer’s compatibility information before ordering.

The main types of iPhone Duo case

Choose the main function first, then check how the case behaves with Duo open, closed and partly folded. Hinge coverage, access to buttons and the outer display, and the position of a stand or wallet matter on a folding phone.

Different functions and their limits
Type Examples covered below Main limit to check
Slim two-part shell Apple iPhone Duo Case No numeric drop or waterproof rating stated in the checked listing.
Folio or stand case Apple Folio; ZAGG Crystal Palace Snap with Stand A folding cover or kickstand does not imply card slots.
Rugged protective case OtterBox Defender Series Pro XT Drop testing and port covers do not establish waterproofing.
Wallet folio TORRO fixed or detachable wallet Card capacity, cash storage and charging access differ.
Underwater housing Outex Phone Pro Duo stays folded inside the housing; follow its depth and setup limits.

These are functional categories, not a protection ranking. Manufacturer product pages linked below provide the specifications for each named Duo version.

Apple iPhone Duo Case and Folio with Kickstand

Apple iPhone Duo Case: a slim shell

The Apple iPhone Duo Case is US $79 before tax. Its two-part matte-coated polycarbonate construction wraps both sides of the phone. Built-in magnets support MagSafe accessories and charging while the case remains fitted. Apple lists compatibility with MagSafe, Qi2 25W and Qi-certified chargers.

Sand and Navy Blue are the announced colors. This is the option to consider for a relatively slim cover. The checked listing does not state a drop height, a case IP rating or card and cash storage.

Apple iPhone Duo Folio: an integrated stand

The Apple iPhone Duo Folio with Kickstand is US $129 before tax. It uses TechWoven material and has an adjustable stand that folds away when unused. Apple lists MagSafe, Qi2 25W and Qi charging support, including charging behind the open stand.

Apple announced Taupe and Navy Blue. Choose it for its cover and viewing support; Apple does not list card slots or a cash compartment. The name folio alone does not make it a wallet. Apple’s accessory announcement describes both models.

Drop-resistant and stand-equipped third-party cases

The OtterBox Defender Series Pro XT for iPhone Duo adds an articulated hinge guard, grippy edges and port covers intended to keep out dust and dirt. The listed U.S. price is $89.99 before tax. It also supports magnetic wireless charging.

For this exact Duo model, OtterBox states testing at four times the military drop-test standard, MIL-STD-810G 516.6. That multiplier is not a drop height and does not guarantee survival on every surface. It should not be replaced with a different multiplier advertised for another Defender model. The checked page does not establish a waterproof rating.

The clear ZAGG Crystal Palace Snap with Stand for iPhone Duo combines hinge protection, magnetic accessory support and a kickstand for portrait or landscape viewing. ZAGG describes impact protection, but the checked Duo listing does not provide a drop height. It is a separate alternative for a clear finish and stand; no numerical drop ranking is claimed here. The linked Canadian storefront has regional pricing and delivery terms.

Waterproof cases and the phone’s water resistance

Apple rates the iPhone Duo itself IP68 under controlled laboratory conditions, to a maximum depth of 6 meters for up to 30 minutes. This is not a certification for an attached case. Apple’s water guidance says resistance can decrease with wear and advises against swimming, bathing, intentional submersion and pressurized water. Liquid damage is excluded from its limited warranty, subject to applicable consumer rights.

A verified specialist option is the Outex Phone Pro housing for iPhone Duo. Outex states that it accommodates Duo while folded and provides water protection to 10 meters, about 33 feet. Its description includes an optical-glass lens port, a lanyard and access to physical camera controls. Touchscreen use is described above water; underwater photography uses the physical controls.

This is a dedicated housing rather than an everyday folding case or wallet. Confirm the current Duo kit, sealing procedure and depth limit with Outex and follow its installation instructions before water use. The claimed depth is the manufacturer’s specification, not an AppShifted test. The ordinary Apple, OtterBox, ZAGG and TORRO listings checked here do not establish equivalent underwater protection.

Cases with holders for cards and money

TORRO leather wallet: three cards and a cash compartment

The TORRO iPhone Duo Leather Wallet Case lists three card slots, a separate cash compartment and a horizontal stand. It uses cowhide leather and magnetic side tabs. The UK listing was £39.99 on the review date; shipping, taxes and international terms depend on destination.

TORRO states that it supports official MagSafe chargers but is unsuitable for vertical MagSafe stands and in-car MagSafe chargers. That is a material restriction if you use a magnetic dashboard holder. It has no stated measured drop height or waterproof rating in the checked specifications.

TORRO detachable wallet: two cards and banknotes

The TORRO detachable iPhone Duo wallet combines a removable magnetic folio with an inner bumper case. The folio has two card slots and a compartment for banknotes. Its listed UK price was £47.99.

For MagSafe charging, TORRO specifies the inner bumper alone: detach the wallet folio first. Choose between these versions by the stated storage capacity and how often you want to separate the phone from the wallet, rather than assuming the two cases work identically.

Apple’s MagSafe guidance says to keep cards, security badges and similar items out of the charging gap. Remove the wallet or relevant items before charging. For any separate magnetic card holder, confirm explicit Duo compatibility; magnetic attachment alone does not establish fit or secure retention.

Check fit, storage and charging before buying

  • For a slim cover: check Apple’s two-part Duo Case.
  • For a built-in stand: consider Apple’s Folio or ZAGG’s Duo-specific stand case.
  • For documented drop testing: inspect the exact OtterBox Duo specification and its limitations.
  • For cash and cards: compare TORRO’s stated capacities and charging restrictions.
  • For underwater use: a separately specified housing such as Outex changes how the folded phone can be used.

Check stock, local delivery, return terms and the selected iPhone Duo model at checkout. Keep the hinge clear and follow Apple’s handling instructions; leave the inner display’s factory cover in place and follow its screen-protector guidance.
